New product line within Grupa Azoty Group’s fertilizers category

The Grupa Azoty Group is launching the Fosfarm product line – modern and environmentally-friendly NPK fertilizers providing an ample and efficient source of soil nutrients. The new line developed by the Grupa Azoty Group’s Gdańsk-based company is another step taken by the Group towards achieving the goals of the European Green Deal.

The expansion of the fertilizer product portfolio will almost coincide with the rebranding of Gdańskie Zakłady Nawozów Fosforowych Fosfory Sp. z o.o. into Grupa Azoty Fosfory sp. z o.o. to fully integrate that company with the Grupa Azoty Group and to leverage the strength of the brand to increase revenue.

Fosfarm is a line of compound fertilizers manufactured in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, including circular (closed-loop) economy. They are enriched with calcium, magnesium, sulfur and micronutrients, such as copper and zinc. Notably, the phosphorus, calcium, magnesium and micro-elements contained in the fertilizer are from renewable sources only.

“We consistently support farmers in achieving their production targets. Our new fertilizer formulas allow agricultural producers to comply with the applicable environmental regulations and requirements. The new product line proves that what Grupa Azoty places on the market are innovative solutions aligned with the European Green Deal. We should also welcome the fact that – with the launch of the new product line – full synergy with Grupa Azoty Fosfory has become a reality. The experience of recent years has shown that consistent implementation of a uniform sales strategy and policy, supported by efforts made under the common brand, produces good results for the entire Grupa Azoty Group,” said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

Fosfarm fertilizers contain ammoniacal nitrogen, magnesium and sulfur, which facilitate absorption of phosphorus by plants – thanks to a phenomenon called synergism between elements. The phosphorus contained in the fertilizers is soluble in ammonium citrate and water (one-fourth of the phosphorus is water soluble). Phosphorus compounds soluble in those two substances show comparable effectiveness regardless of when they are applied, provided they are placed at the correct depth in the soil.

“The Grupa Azoty Group's Fosfarm product line is a state-of-the-art and environmentally safe solution. It should be stressed that we have recently stepped up our efforts to roll out products that conform with the European Green Deal requirements. I am talking about Pulrea+INu, an inhibitor containing urea, which is our response to the requirements laid down in the NEC Directive to reduce ammonia emissions into the atmosphere. Importantly, although the use of urea with inhibitors will only become obligatory in Poland from August 1st 2021, the product has already been available from the Grupa Azoty Group for several months,” said Witold Szczypiński, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

Initially, two products will be available on the market: Fosfarm 4-10-15 and Fosfarm 4-8-21. However, the Grupa Azoty Group has already announced plans to expand the product line by adding more fertilizer formulas.

“We created the Fosfarm line with a view to sustainable and efficient utilisation of nutrients contained in the fertilizers. Our aim was to obtain optimum quality crops, while reducing pollution and protecting the production potential of the environment. The goal was achieved on the back of joint efforts of the Group’s entire Agro Segment. The next step, which is the full rebranding, will certainly allow us to tap opportunities presented by being part of the Grupa Azoty Group,” said Wojciech Dawidziuk, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Fosfory.

Fosfarm fertilizers will be sold in 500 kg big bags and palletised 50 kg bags. The product will be available on the market as early as in March 2021. Fosfarm fertilizers will be sold through the Grupa Azoty Group’s authorised distribution network. For the list of authorised distributors, visitwww.nawozy.eu or check our AGROlider magazine.
